"Healthy Trails, Healthy People" is the theme of this year's National Trails Day.
The Klickitat Trail Conservancy is sponsoring both a hike and a bicycle ride on this day. For both events, meet at the Trailhead in Lyle, Washington. This is located at the west end of Lyle, across the street from Greg Colt Realty. The hike will be from Pitt to Fisher Hill Bridge, a distance of 8 miles. We will take our time and will probably be hiking from 10:00 until 3:00. Bring plenty of water, sunscreen, lunch, hat, and jacket. Children are welcome.
Please remember that on Klickitat Trail Conservancy events we are not allowing dogs or smoking at this time.
The bikers will meet at the same time and place. A car/bike shuttle will be organized among the participants. The event is a mountain bike ride of the entire 31-mile Klickitat Trail. Remember that this is still a railroad bed and not an improved trail at this time. Mountain bikes only, with shock absorbers recommended. Bring the usual equipment items. The ride takes 4-5 hours.
